Adrian Garza Teaching Pianists in Plano Since 2003

My name is Adrian Garza. I give personalized attention to each student in the comfort of their own home. Along with learning how to play the piano, students learn discipline, determination and respect through the art of playing the piano. The aim is to create well-rounded individuals with a passion for music. Please press Watch Students Play to see videos of actual students playing.

I loved the piano since my earliest years. My formal training began at the age of six. One of my most important teachers was Maestro Sergio Peña from the Julliard School of Music. Mtro. Peña also studied with the German pianist Walter Gieseking. I am also a certified educator by the Texas State Board for Education Certification. I am fluent in Spanish, English and German. I am currently studying Mandarin.

I am a member in good standing with MTNA, Music Teachers National Association and its state and local affiliations TMTA and PMTA. These organizations are designed to support professional music teachers through networking, continuing education and resources. Their Music Theory Tests are an excellent measure of a students capabilities from the very beginning to advanced and collegiate studies.

I utilize this program, not just to measure my students, but to provide verifiable proof of their achievements. In addition, my students enjoy participating. The results of the tests motivate the great majority of my students to continue their lessons until graduation from high school. The truly gifted students often focus on music in their pursuit of a music degree. I am a full-time piano teacher. My energies are not divided between my personal pursuits and my students. There is no other job competing for my time. I maintain a limited number of students under my tutelage at any given time, which is very important to the quality of my program. First Time Piano Students

____________
The ideal time to begin piano lessons is around the age of 6, but if an interest is shown earlier, lessons are available to children from the age of 4. Beginners, including adults, are taught the basic rules of the piano, but more importantly students are coached to understand music is both an art and a science. An emphasis is placed on appreciation of classical music. For more information on the benefits of piano lessons, read this article or call me at 972-333-1260.

Two types of transfer students are welcomed into the program. If your family has recently moved into the Willow Bend area from elsewhere and your child has been receiving piano training, the quicker they are placed with a new teacher, the smoother the transition will be.

Parents and students are sometimes faced with the need for another type of transfer. When your child is not thriving in their lessons, it may not be the child’s fault. It may be time to consider a different teacher. These are signs your child is struggling:

unmotivated to go to the piano lessons
reluctant to practice
not learning new music
not improving their skills

If you see these signs, please call me at 972-333-1260. We can evaluate the situation and decide what would be best for your student.
